Conference 2010

Fourth conference Espoo: Infrastructure in municipalities

The fourth Conference of the Platform of experts in Planning Law was a success!

On the first day of the conference a case concerning ‘infrastructure in municipalities from a planning law point of view’ was discussed. Erja Werdi and  LL.M Jaakko Kanerva (Finland), Regina Koning and Fred Hobma (The Netherlands) and Tim Schwarz (Germany) gave an inspiring presentation about their reaction to the case. This led to an discussion and exchange of ideas.

In the afternoon a (public) scientific symposium took place regarding ‘current issues related to the planning law’ with several key note speakers. Rachelle Alterman (Israel) evaluated the conference and pointed out the importance of this platform.

All participants expressed their intention for a follow up to the further exchange of knowledge through this website and a fifth conference next year.

The second day of the conference included a cultural program. A Excursion to the Office of Länsimetro in Tapiola, Espoo and a visit to the Helsinki City Planning Department was very much appreciated by the members of the Platform of Experts in Planning Law.
